Staying at Home? Let Us Help!

The high school youth in the J2A class provide a ministry of service to parishioners in need of a little help on a project at home. If you are unable to go out or are in need of a little “socially distanced” assistance during this time, please contact us! We would be happy to help you with basic yard work or projects. We’ll also be happy to do your grocery shopping and other errands so you won’t have go out! Just contact us, and we’ll work something out! Atrium and Middle School age youth are invited to join us for ice skating on Sunday, March 8th! Parental supervision is required for children in Pre-K through 5th grade, and a parent will need to accompany their child unless other arrangements have been made. Lunch with Santa, December 14

Lunch with Santa will be on Saturday, December 14, from noon to 2:00 PM. There will be crafts, a visit with Santa, and lunch for children ages infant to 11 years old. Children's Christmas Pageant

This year's Children's Christmas Pageant will be performed at the 3:00 PM Children's Service in St. James' Church on Christmas Eve! Rehearsals for the traditional Nativity Pageant will be held during Sunday Church School with the final rehearsal on Sunday, December 23. There are both speaking and non-speaking roles. Cancelled: All Hallows' Eve Celebration

The All Hallows' Eve Celebration for this Friday, 10/27, has been cancelled. Stay tuned as we have many more youth events being announced soon!

All Hallows' Eve Celebration and Trunk or Treat, October 27 from 6-8PM.

Children of all ages, young and old (hint: adults, too!), are invited to dress up and enjoy fellowship and community in St. James' Parish Hall. Preschoolers through 5th graders will enjoy dinner from 6-7 PM followed by fun and games beginning at 7 PM. All parishioners are invited to bring their cars to the parking lot for the annual All Hallows' Eve Trunk or Treat. Decorate your trunks with your favorite All Hallows' Eve decorations and pass out treats to our young people who will visit each car starting at 7 PM.

Trunk or Treat is a great way to have a neighborhood Halloween experience. We encourage the entire St. James' Parish community to participate in this fun event. Costumes are encouraged! YAC Coordinates Prom Dress Drive

YAC (Young Adults in Church) is collecting gently used and cleaned prom-style, bridesmaid, and dresses recently worn to holiday parties as well as accessories and shoes for girls in and around our community. YAC believes this is a terrific opportunity to recycle party dresses and help local girls that might not otherwise be able to dress up for that special night! NEW THIS YEAR - We are also collecting suits and shoes for boys! Please drop off your donations in the Parish Hall. Cash donations are also needed to purchase additional dresses, shoes, and accessories.

Youth to Support The Stanton Center

On March 5, High School youth will shop for food that will be donated to The Stanton Center, Annapolis, MD. The youth will be visiting the Center from 4:30 - 6 PM to play games, read, and spend time with children from the community. They will also serve supper to the children. 2017 Reading Camp Volunteers Needed!

Last year we had the rewarding experience of running a camp designed to help underachieving students improve readings skills. It is time to assemble our team for the 2017 year. Camp will be held July 31st - August 4th at St. James’ Parish. We need several kinds of volunteers. To run the instructional groups, we need teachers current or retired. We also need adults who were not teachers, and we need several teenagers.

Inter-generational Fun Day on Sunday, August 14

Come join us in discovering a treasure in our Nation's Capital in visiting a museum or two. Come and take a tour of the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes!

When: Sunday, July 10th
Who's Invited: Everyone! We will be leaving St. James’ Church after the 10 AM service to go to the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, MD on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University. If there is time and interest, we will try to end our day at the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton just three miles away.
Transportation: We are currently working on acquiring a school bus. The drive to Emmitsburg, MD, is about an hour and a half.
Food: Please bring a bag lunch. Everyone under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
